Why Write Poetry? (Poem 41 of 99)

The scorpion of silence stings

As the melody of loneliness sings

The diamond of temptation blings

As ego clips faith’s wings

 —

My feelings are a bomb that will detonate

And their shrapnel in your soul will resonate

 —

People ask me what writing poetry is all about

I say: “put a space between the a and b and you will see”:

It certainly is a bout

—

I poke a nest of emotion in my heart

And out swarm an army of bees

Stinging me with metaphors and alliteration

—

Everybody has the right to live

So I write to live
